Medicine Management

Pharmaceutical Care is a type of medicine management by the pharmacists. But medicine management is not necessary pharmaceutical care. The two terms are not synonymous.

Medicine management covers the following three areas:

1. Medication review.
2. Support for patients with particular medication need.
3. Structured pharmaceutical cares based exclusively in the community pharmacies.

Medicine management seeks to maximize health gain through the optimum use of medicines. It encompasses all aspects of medicines use, including rational prescribing, professional audit and dispensing of prescription, and adequate medication counseling for good patient’s compliance.
